The holidays are over and now it is time to focus on your wellness plan. In January we discussed the dietary science of Ayurveda and how this ancient science can guide us in planning our wellness regimens.
The winter season, also known in Ayurveda as Vata season, can be a tricky time for people to stay well and balanced. To balance Vata with lifestyle, Ayurveda recommends a regular yoga and meditation practice as well as regular sesame oil Abhyanga massage, as oil (fat) is grounding and balances the airiness (or un-groundedness of Vata). Specific dietary guidelines are also recommended to balance the Vata energy of the winter season…seasonal eating takes on a whole new meaning in Ayurveda.
Join Wellness Coach, Dietitian and Registered Yoga Teacher Deanna Norelli as she reviews tips to balance Vata using “food as medicine,” to keep your immune system strong this winter so you can enjoy a balanced mind, body and spirit system. Deanna will be making her delicious Sweet Potato Dal, which all participants can savor and enjoy!
Call (262) 955-6600 to register by 2/17 (space is limited). Phone payments are accepted.
